ELVENKING Part Ways With Singer
August 26, 2002Italian "pagan metal" act ELVENKING have parted ways with singer Damnagoras a little over a week prior to the band's scheduled appearance at Bloodstock 2002 festival in Derby, UK. "The decision was taken by mutual consent," according to a statement posted on the band's official web site. "ELVENKING did their very best to find a temporary substitute [singer] for the festival but the time was too short to find any solution, so their show will be cancelled."
"We deeply want to honor this event,' says guitarist Jarpen, "and we will play [at Bloodstock] in spite of the bad circumstances. The band will be joined on stage by our dear friend Martin Walkyier to perform more SKYCLAD tracks. We are extremely sorry as we know that many English kids wanted to see ELVENKING play their songs in their homeland. When there will be another chance to play in the UK we will come back and put on fire the whole crowd no doubt! We'll give our best with Martin and we are sure it will be a hell of a good gig anyway. See you there!"
